3 must – visit waterfalls in Cambodia

Boo Sra Waterfall

Located at Pich Chenda District, Boo Sra Waterfall is about 43 kilometers from the provincial town by red soil road. Boo Sra is the most beautiful waterfall in Modulkiri and shared into three stages:

First stage: The waterfall fall is 8 to 12 meters high and 15 meters wide in rainy season and 10 to 15 meters wide in dry season.

Second Stage: The waterfall fall is 15 to 20 meters high and 20 meters wide in rainy season and 18 to 25 meters high and 13 meters wide in dry season. The second stage is 150 meters from the first stage. Indochina tours in Cambodia

Third Stage: The waterfall has stronger speed than the second stage. This stage cannot be reached because it locates in the thick forest, lacks of transporting mean and is dangerous due to having fierce-wild animals.

The double-drop waterfall is very popular with the locals who use it as a bathing and picnic spot. Its top level is around 10m in height, and the lower level drops down 25m to the gorge. It is in a scenic and pristine setting and offers great photo ops. Nearby is the ethnic Phnong village called Pich Chenda which has a small guesthouse. Some snacks are available at the falls, but bring food if you would like something more substantial.

Chrey Thom Waterfall

Chrey Thom Waterfall is one of the loveliest tourist attractions in Mondulkiri that you should definitely pay a visit to! This majestic waterfall bears the name “Chrey Thom” meaning “Big Chrey Tree” due to the giant and branchy Chrey tree that you will see when coming to the site.

Chrey Thom Waterfall is located at Sen Monorum District in 43-kilometer distance from the provincial town. During the dry season, the waterfall has 15 meters height and 2 meters diameter, and during the rainy season, the waterfall has 11 meters height and 8 meters diameter. The provincial tourist service is working with the local authority to prepare this site as a tourist destination in place of Busra waterfall, which is inaccessible during rainy season. The natural waterfall is surrounded by green forest and spectacular mountains and hills, creating a wonderful natural resort that is abundant in fresh air. The site is perfect for picnicking, hiking, or you will even spend the whole day just swimming without feeling bored! There are some local villages nearby where you can get some food and drink, and some unique souvenirs beautifully produced by ethnic groups. The best part in Chrey Thom is accessible even in dry season unlike other waterfalls, so you can make to visit to this waterfall anytime in the year.

Rum Near Waterfall

Rum Near Waterfall is located at Sen Monorum District in 10.5 kilometers distance and just a few minutes ride from the provincial town. The waterfall provides one of the best picnicking and bathing places in Mondulkiri.

The waterfall is 5 meters high and 10 meters wide in the rainy season, in dry season, it is 6 meters high and 8 meters wide and flows smoothly past tall shade trees and toward a large basin that is suitable for swimming or bathing.

Located in the industrial plantation areas, the waterfall is surrounded by trees of many kinds such as rubber, coffee, cashew, mango, avocado and so on. The water flows smoothly past tall shade trees and toward a large basin that is suitable for swimming and bathing. It is a nice idea to bring some lunches to have them here while resting under the shade.
